Waking up in Huanchaco

Hello From South America!!

After our first real night of sleep we woke up in Huanchaco, Peru. We met up with our contact for SKIP, Liz, and she gave us a little tour of our new town. Before we traveled too far we needed to get lunch.
Ceviche and crab was our introduction to the Peruvian food. Not bad and very colorful.

Of course, how else do we Americans finish off a meal but with dessert! William was the brave soul who tried it out for the team. And yes, this was not only purchased from a street vender, but also bright orange. And not to mention 1 sole (33 cents).

After lunch we picked up our cameras and as the dedicated photographers we are, spent the rest of the night wandering around (on the trail) and taking pictures. *These photos coming soon*

Dinner was yet another adventure for us. We were on our own for this one and just about the only word we recognized was pollo. So you guessed it, we had chicken! Due to the language barrier it took a little while to order but we figured it out. During dinner we got a little company from one of the many stray dogs. DO NOT PET THE DOGS!!! But take all the pictures you want.

Talk to you all soon!
